Responsibilities

The Director of Pharmacy investigational drug services (IDS) is responsible for the oversight, direction and management of pharmacy research support services. This individual is a recognized Pharmacy Department research services leader and provides strong, visible, values driven leadership and advocacy for the pharmacy department for the enterprise. Establishes and oversees a system and processes to ensure effective operational processes and inventory of medications and supplies aligned to research and IRB approved studies. Directs and ensures implementation and compliance with all protocols with oversight of medical record and protocol management systems. Managing research inventory and documentation with compliance to protocol and regulation to meet organizational needs by leveraging analytical tools that provide visibility, transparency and proactive monitoring. Participates as a subject matter expert in Mayo Clinic for Research Administration strategic planning, capital and space planning.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree AND a minimum of 4 years investigational drug services or relevant management experience.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business or healthcare related field, preferred.

  • Completion of leadership or management educational programs.

  • Extensive knowledge of health-system pharmacy operations.

  • Knowledge of investigational drug service technologies.

  • Strong commitment and evidence of achieving excellence. Proven history of successfully working in a team environment. Communicates effectively. Proven history of a commitment to patient care and alignment with Mayo Clinic values.
