Summary:
- The OB Coordinator supports the Practice Manager and physicians by tracking and monitoring OB patients, charts, and testing in addition to providing patient education.
Responsibilities:
Records all new OB patients and monitors changes, distributes lists/reports as requested
Maintains PPD program
Pre-certs all OB patients
Orders medication with third party authorization and maintains log Liaison between practice and Labor and Delivery at the hospital
Audits OB charts and maintains results flow (blood work, ultrasound, correspondence, etc.)
Follows-up on any changes from physicians’ OB chart reviews, appropriately communicates results to physicians
Handle patient prescriptions with the pharmacy with appropriate clinical supervision
Assists physician with direct patient care when appropriate
Schedules all associated OB testing and appointments and provide patients with instructions
Maintains exam rooms and perform NST (Non-stress Test) as directed by provider
Provides OB patients with diabetic testing supplies and scripts, refers patients to diabetic teaching & nutritional counseling
Acts as point of contact for non-emergent OB triage, triage patient calls with appropriate clinical supervision
Writes OB lab slips for patients with appropriate clinical supervision
Credentials:
MA-AAMA or MA-AMT or MA-NCCT or MA-NHA
Basic Cardiac Life Support
Licensed Practical Nurse
LPN or RN licensure in good standing in the state of Pennsylvania
Education or Equivalent Experience:
H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
3+ years' experience in healthcare setting, preferably in Women's Health (Required)
MA Certification required if not LPN/RN licensed (Required)
Associate of Arts or Science (Preferred)
