Amazon Transportation Manager, First Mile AMZL in RJ, Brazil

Description

The Amazon First Mile team is looking for a First Mile Operations Manager to raise the bar and ensure that every customer and seller across the country receives the speed, quality, and reliability they expect from Amazon.

As a FM Operations Manager you will be responsible for MG/RJ/ES/DF areas, leading the operation with several logistics partners and ensuring our sellers have a great experience using our Marketplace. This role will serve as a critical liaison between Business, Seller Operations, and Transportation teams, reporting directly to the OTR leader.

Key job responsibilities

  • Be comfortable in different roles, sometimes supporting, sometimes leading, and has the ability to “roll up their sleeves” and jump in if needed.

  • Develop and implement ideas to drive continuous improvement by simplifying the process, creating additional value and reducing the costs.

  • Identify process gaps through deep dive of metrics and make operational improvements.

  • Benchmark with other countries and players to optimize our FM operations network and routing system.

  • Redesign FM network adjusting it to volume growth and vehicles availability.

  • Support FM expansion with other PMs.

  • Align capacity needed with logistic partners, and scout new partners when needed.

  • Build strong partnerships with 3P operational leaders and Amazon stakeholders, accelerating problem-solving to prevent issues that could harm the customer and seller experience

  • Build strong mechanisms and KPIs to improve daily operations.

  • Ensure compliance and quality in deliveries while focusing on user experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering or Logistics;

  • Program or project management experience;

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership;

  • Experience working with external suppliers;

  • Experience leading large complex programs;

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements;

  • Experienced in Distribution and/or Fulfillment processes, ideally in fast-paced eCommerce environment;

  • Fluent in Portuguese and English;

  • Availability to travel and work from different locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field
