Parsons Corporation Construction Director in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction Director to join our team! In this role, you will join a professional Project Management team that is involved in multiple projects on a program being developed by Diriyah Gate Development Authority. Anchored to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of At Turaif, it is intended to become a world-class cultural heritage destination for the people of the kingdom and for visitors looking to discover the essence of Saudi Arabia. Phase 1 consists of a 7.5km master plan separated into 5 districts, each with a blend of asset classes all of which are being designed in the Najdi architectural style and are well underway so you will be joining the program at an exciting and challenging time.

What You'll Be Doing:

Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.

  • Interface with all stakeholders and review delivery strategy to ensure changes are accommodated in a timely manner and implanted correctly.

  • Pre-Construction for each package. Support all departments including Tender and award.

  • Reporting to DGCL

  • Reporting to SAPL Programme Director

  • Develop interface strategies with the Assets and infrastructure.

  • Ensuring construction risks are identified and communicated effectively.

  • Manage the Risks to provide mitigation and implement.

  • Plan and direct Off-site activities through the Off-site Construction Manager

  • Ensure off site standards are being met with respect to health, Safety and Quality.

  • Agree the health and Safety Strategy with the Senior health and Safety Manager

  • Establish Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan for the construction works.

  • Plans, direct, supervise, the Construction, Logistic, Health and Safety team to deliver the project objectives on site.

  • Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors.

  • Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.

  • Assigns responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates.

  • Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates.

  • Proved Coaching and mentoring to subordinates.

  • Works with the key project individual to devise and execute action plans to rectify delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work.

  • Advises the client and company management of any such changes.

  • The Project Manager is specifically responsible for maintaining current and timely change orders. The construction Director is to make sure they have any information in a timely manner.

  • Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through subordinates and the supervision consultants.

  • Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule.

  • Weekly meetings to review project status and formulate action items.

  • Management of the client specialists with respect to the Public Ream Works.

  • Detailed Reporting to SAPL program lead

  • Detailed Reporting to DGCL

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

  • Clear communication with the commercial and Project Manager teams on items that may affect the cost and contractual performance of the project.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in civil engineering or equivalent

  • Work experience of minimum 15 + years in an international construction management

  • Detailed knowledge of the Construction Management procedures

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Experience in coordinating with diverse individuals and teams including client, consultant, contractor, design, and construction members to enable achievement of project objectives and targets.
