Job Description Summary
At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Company, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for engine and mechanical transmissions applied to both civil and military aviation (i.e., accessory drivetrains, engine thermal management, turboprop & helicopter reduction gearboxes, etc.).
Avio Aero is reinforcing the focus to excellence in aeronautical Mechanical Transmissions (ie accessory drivetrains, turboprop reduction gearboxes, etc).
In this spirit, we are looking for a talented design engineer, expected to perform production support activities within the Production Technologies organization, with particular focus to gearbox components.
The position is requiring important involvement into technical assessment, products performance and production processes, through a deep collaboration with the Manufacturing and Supply Chain departments and activities aimed at improving product manufacturability and producibility.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Support management of Quality Notifications (QN) for gearbox components, ie provide indications to manage defective components and substantiate compliance to airworthiness requirement
Support Source Substantiation (Validazioni Tecnologiche) activities for gearbox components
Support activities related to products performance and quality investigations
Proactively develop, support and coordinate activities with other Company departments and Suppliers to implement product improvements (eg concurrent design, cost-out activities) and to achieve the objectives of cost, performance and life
Issue technical documents (ie drawings, reports, specifications)
Qualifications/Requirements
Degree in Engineering (mechanical or aeronautical preferred)
Basic experience with CAD as Unigraphics NX, and FEM CAE as Nastran, Ansys
English and Italian language fluent knowledge, both written and oral
Work Visa, according with local regulation, is required
Desired Characteristics
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problem
Ability to document, plan, execute project
Established project management, continuous improvement and problem solving attitude
Experience in mechanical design
Experience with FEM tools (ie Nastran, Ansys)
