Job Highlights
YA Imaging Assistants have opportunities to work with a variety of licensed professionals performing diagnostic imaging services for our patients. This includes room/equipment set up and maintenance, patient transport, and observation on the use of complex tools and equipment. Our imaging units are a key diagnostic tool for many diseases and have an important role in monitoring treatment and predicting patient outcomes. A licensed professional will serve as your mentor and will help guide your training while providing ongoing support in the role.
Job Details
Effectively work as part of a team, communicate effectively with close attention to details
Maintain academic and attendance requirements for participation in the Youth Apprenticeship Program
Participate in progress reviews scheduled with mentors, school staff, parent(s) or guardian(s), and employer
Assist with the setup of diagnostic areas
Clean and restock room after procedures
Transport patients within the facility
Assist with and/or observe procedures such as equipment set up and patient positioning
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
High school junior or senior
16 years of age
Must be authorized and approved by the Wisconsin Youth Apprentice Program in accordance with your local school criteria
Reliable transportation to get to and from work
Satisfactory progress towards graduation
Commit to completing 450 hours at the jobsite (10-15 hours/week)
Demonstrated maturity and responsibility
Skill with attending to details, excellent attendance and a strong work ethic
Foster a culture of caring through interpersonal relationships and communication

Job Summary:
Supports radiologic health professionals by preparing the room for procedures, providing patient support, assistant with procedures, and maintaining supply inventory.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Transports patients to procedure rooms.
Assists with patient pre-screening.
Prepares and positions patients under the guidance of the technologist.
Provides patient education related to the examination under the guidance of the technologist.
Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
Assists in the setup of diagnostic area to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing room, and any other areas in the department.
Cleans and restocks room after procedures and maintains inventory.
Respects patient confidentiality and maintains Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance.
Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Must be at least 16 years of age and currently enrolled in High School or 18 years of age with a High School diploma/GED

Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.
Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
Rare kneeling and sitting.
