Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret blueprints to understand welding requirements and choose the appropriate welding technique (MIG, TIG, arc, etc.)
- Assemble and weld metal components from start to finish, prepping, cutting, shaping, positioning, and executing the weld.
- Inspect welds and confirm they meet the highest level of quality standards, utilizing measuring tools and conducting destructive or non-destructive tests.
- Ensure welding equipment, tools, and accessories are in optimal working condition through regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and arranging for repairs when necessary.
- Oversee the inventory and proper storage of welding consumables, such as electrodes, filler metals, and shielding gases, to ensure consistent supply.
- Keep detailed records of job logs, material usage, and any problems that arise
- Work collaboratively with other welders, fabricators, and team members to complete projects efficiently.
- Contribute to the training and mentoring of junior welders, sharing your expertise.
Key Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- 0-2 years experience with welding
- Understanding of reading and interpreting blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Interest in learning and adapting to new welding techniques
