APRIL 2025 START DATE

J. Hutchins, Inc. is seeking low bed truck driver candidates to join our team out of both Richmond, VT & Irasburg, VT. Class A license preferred.

Applicants will need to be able to drive Flow boys & Triaxles as needed. Applicants of this position should have a strong work ethic, as well as a vast knowledge of trailer and transport operation. Applications should also have a solid understanding of DOT rules and regulations, and a clean commercial driving history.

Job Duties:

• Transport a wide variety of equipment to various job site locations and back to the shop
• Inspect and maintain equipment on a daily basis
• Familiar with DOT rules and regulations
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently
• Complete required pre and post trip inspections reporting necessary maintenance
• General housekeeping of equipment and yard on a daily basis or as directed by supervisor
• Individual must be able to lift objects weighing 50 lb. on a regular basis
• General knowledge of keeping an electronic trucking log

Job Requirements:

• Applicant must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a valid Commercial Driver License Class A and maintain clean driving record. (Records susceptible to periodic checks)
• Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Two years of related tractor/trailer driving experience required.
• Willingness to work in a team environment.
• Mechanical knowledge of equipment.
• Applicant must pass pre-employment screenings including DOT physical, drug screen, and Motor Vehicle Report.
• Compliance with all OSHA/MSHA and DOT regulations.
• Ability to work a minimum of an 8-10 hour shift while driving, daily. There is potential that some days could be over 10 hours.
• Ability to climb in and out of the truck throughout the day
• Ability to take direction from others
• Ability to prioritize and manage time
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and problem solve
• General knowledge of Vermont roads and travel ways is a major plus
• Ability to operate a standard CDL truck restriction free
• Knowledge of CDL permits and permit requirements is a major plus
