Description We are searching for a Security Manager in Richmond, Virginia, specifically within the Motor Freight Forwarding industry. This role is a contract to hire employment opportunity. As a Security Manager, you will be responsible for managing and resolving severe IT incidents to ensure minimal disruption to business operations. This work involves collaborating with cross-functional technical teams to identify, manage, and resolve critical severity issues promptly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Directly manage the incident response team during critical events, coordinating efforts across different departments to restore functionality swiftly.

• Foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement by refining the incident management process based on root cause analysis and lessons-learned discussions.

• Maintain clear and regular communications with stakeholders at all levels throughout the incident lifecycle, providing concise and professional updates while managing expectations.

• Train and mentor team members involved in incident management responses, ensuring they understand their roles and are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.

• Assess the severity and impact of incidents, prioritize efforts accordingly, and escalate critical issues to the appropriate stakeholders and leadership.

• Facilitate the resolution of problem management issues that arise from major incidents, ensuring timely updates to the overall IT incident management response strategy.

• Stay updated on the technologies used within the industry and effectively translate technical terminology into easy-to-understand language and vice versa.

• Monitor, manage, and track incident management metrics and other key performance indicators, developing meaningful trending reports that identify potential risks. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the field of security management, preferably within the Motor Freight Forwarder industry.

• Proficiency in Access Control and Cisco Technologies.

• Familiarity with Firewall Technologies, IDS, and IPS is crucial.

• Experience with Active Directory, Auditing, and Authentication is required.

• Proficiency in Computer Hardware and Configuration Management.

• Experience in Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) and Computer Security Incident procedures.

• Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team management skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.
