Job Summary and Qualifications
SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Greets patients/customers promptly, professionally and cordially.
Demonstrates knowledge of the radiology information system as related to Meditech.
Answers telephone professionally and efficiently. Ensures telephone calls are transferred to appropriate modalities. Reviews and processes incoming faxes promptly.
Enters requisitions for scheduled and non-scheduled procedures. Reviews all physician orders and attaches a “Special Instruction Sheet” for any additional request. (i.e.: stat, call results, send images).
Monitors printer; separates and distributes reports in a timely manner.
Processes all patient paperwork on a daily basis to ensure appropriate bar codes are attached for HIM scanning.
Prints images from PACS and PACS Cube CD Burner. Releases images and or interpretation to physicians/customers when requested. Check out and mail films or auto fax interpretations as needed.
Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in all clerical areas of Radiology. (i.e.: Diagnostic, CT, MRI, US, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiology Registration)
Processes all Outpatient Medical Record Documentation and ensures it is filed in appropriate location.
Ensure supplies are stocked.
Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patient information according to HIPAA Policy & Procedure.
Completes and maintains educational requirements.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED: One year of clerical in an office setting
PREFERRED: One year of clerical in a medical environment
EDUCATION
REQUIRED: High School graduate
