Description We are looking to hire a Property Accountant for our team located in Richmond, Virginia. This role is pivotal for our Real Estate Property/Facilities Management operations. The Property Accountant will be primarily responsible for preparing monthly financial reporting for commercial, retail and hospitality properties. The role supports efforts in monthly financial statement preparation and reviews with the property management team. This is a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure financial statements comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles or Tax Accounting Reporting requirements including the company's policies and procedures.

• Provide technical accounting support and decision making, especially in the areas of revenue reporting, sub-ledger reconciliations, general ledger analysis, detail cash management, reserve and accruals analytics.

• Prepare account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and other items associated with the month-end closing process.

• Ensure all ledgers and reports are closed and prepared in a timely and accurate manner.

• Prepare on a monthly basis financial statements including the balance sheet, P& L, statement of cash flow and forecasted cash flow.

• Provide additional analysis and financial support for standard and ad hoc reporting requirements as directed by owners and or asset management.

• Prepare the analysis and reporting of actual operating performance with operating plan and prior year results to provide information to allow management to make informed decisions and drive business growth.

• Analyze daily and monthly results and communicate risks and opportunities to management for decision making.

• Prepare all required tax filing supporting schedules and tax filings for sales tax where applicable.

• Manage properties of a low to moderate complexity. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Understanding of CapEx

• Proficiency in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in performing Accounting Functions

• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) procedures

• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Experience in managing Cash Activity

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Property Accounting or related role in the Real Estate industry

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
