About the Role: The Construction Process Improvement Project Manager plays a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of construction operations. This position is responsible for initiating and managing continuous improvement initiatives and driving operational excellence. The role involves performing initial interviews of construction technicians, planning, and scheduling training, and executing improvement activities throughout the construction organization.

What You Will Do:

  • Demonstrate expertise in Outside Plant Construction (OSP) functions.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and cost savings.

  • Lead and coach cross-functional teams on process improvement initiatives while providing excellent mentoring.

  • Collaborate across functions, including Field Operations, to enhance both construction and transactional processes.

  • Provide feedback on potential improvements to OSP and other processes impacting OSP operations.

  • Train and develop team members, ensuring the correct application and updating of training materials.

  • Conduct in-depth interviews with potential candidates to evaluate their skills, work experience, and cultural fit.

  • Work closely with managers to understand the specific requirements and expectations for construction tech positions.

  • Collaborate with HR and operations teams to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires.

  • Provide new employees with necessary information and resources to integrate into their roles effectively.

  • Define program objectives and scope clearly.

  • Evaluate and prioritize potential improvements based on benefits and required effort.

  • Secure commitment from employees, including process managers, for proactive change management.

  • Develop a well-articulated implementation plan.

  • Establish criteria for project success and prepare statements of constraints and limiting factors.

  • Implement governance principles effectively.

  • Resolve technical issues related to formulation, equipment, product, regulations, and resources.

  • Conduct detailed analyses of current situations to accurately describe issues.

  • Specify deliverables, outcome indicators, and performance measures.

  • Identify available resources, including personnel, materials, and finances.

  • Map out current state and desired future state for each project in detail.

  • Analyze options, including impact and feasibility, thoroughly.

  • Identify obstacles and strategies to overcome them through continuous improvement.

  • Define governance criteria and plan for maintaining process improvement solutions.

  • Monitor the implementation of solutions regularly to achieve objectives and expected benefits.

  • High technical aptitude and in-depth knowledge of OSP and its interdepartmental relations.

  • Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.

Education and Experience: College degree in a Technical or related field and 2-4 years professional level experience; or 6+ years professional level related Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Technical experience required.
