Robert Half Medical Payment Poster Specialist in Richmond, Virginia

Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Payment Poster Specialist in the healthcare industry, based in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves handling and processing medical payments in a hospital or social assistance setting. The ideal candidate should be proficient in the use of athenahealth and have skills in data processing and billing functions.

Responsibilities:

• Posting, reviewing, and authorizing medical payments in accordance with established procedures

• Manually entering and posting payments to maintain accurate financial records

• Utilizing athenahealth for efficient and effective payment processing

• Proactively resolving any issues or discrepancies in payment entries

• Ensuring all payment entries are compliant with healthcare regulations and standards

• Assisting in the billing functions as necessary to ensure timely and accurate billing

• Regularly updating and maintaining accurate customer credit records

• Working closely with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient payment processes

• Continually improving knowledge and understanding of payment processes and industry trends

• Ensuring all duties are performed in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining the highest level of professionalism at all times. Requirements • Demonstrated experience in the healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance industry.

• Proficiency in data processing related to medical billing and payments.

• Proven knowledge of medical payment posting procedures.

• Familiarity with athenahealth software or similar healthcare billing platforms.

• Ability to accurately process and record a high volume of payment data.

• Strong understanding of billing functions within a healthcare context.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Must adhere to all compliance and data privacy regulations within the healthcare sector.

• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.

• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.

• Commitment to providing a high standard of service to patients and medical professionals.

• Must be able to handle high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing procedures or software updates.
