Applied Materials Manager V (M5) Facilities & Real Estate in Richmond, Virginia

Description

Provides leadership to managers and professional / technical staff. Is accountable for the performance and results of multiple sites or related teams. Develops business unit, department or sub-function plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities. Decisions are guided by resource availability and segment/functional objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the company's local real estate portfolio and facility assets for lithium battery manufacturing (e.g., offices, manufacturing facilities, server rooms, logistics, and others) to ensure sufficient occupant capacity while minimizing company expenses and liabilities and maximizing safety and building uptime.

  • Manages the planning, design, construction, operation, service, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities through local staff and service providers / contractors.

  • Plans, budgets, schedules, and implements facilities modifications and improvements.

  • Collaborates with the Environmental Health & Safety group, over sees facility related health, environmental, and safety standards.

  • Develops operating and capital budgets in accordance with corporate business plans, and then manages these financial resources over the course of the financial period. Provides input to tactical planning strategies in response to corporate business plan models.

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the organization.

  • Identifies general areas for process and program improvement, defines criteria for solutions, and assigns and monitors implementation through subordinates.

  • Provides oversight and leadership to manage outsourced Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) suppliers performing operations, maintenance, repairs of facilities systems.

  • Monitors 3rd party facilities maintenance provider’s performance and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Plans, budgets, schedules, and implements facility infrastructure repairs, modifications and improvements.

  • In collaboration with the Environmental Health & Safety group, over sees items related to environmental, health, and safety and regulatory standards and reporting.

  • Develops departmental plans, including business and organizational priorities.

  • Review operation, maintenance, trouble shooting, project commissioning & acceptance related documents for facilities systems; recommend and implement improvements.

  • Respond to business interruptions or internal customer escalations as needed.

  • Manage team and systems to evaluate facilities system capacities and capabilities.

Functional Knowledge

  • Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within own job family and knowledge of other related job families.

  • Identifies and conceptually scopes safety, compliance, capacity, redundancy, and cost savings projects.

  • Obtains funding and manage facilities projects per scope, schedule & budget.

  • Knowledge of local Fire, Building, and Environmental codes.

  • Experience with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, AutoCAD, building controls systems, and CMMS (e.g.IBM Maximo).

Business Expertise

  • 10+ years working experience as a facilities manager in lithium battery manufacturing or similar industries.

  • Experience with contract management, sourcing, and negotiation.

  • Develop and analyze budgets, determine fiscal budget planning, and manage services to budgets.

  • Anticipates business and regulatory issues.

  • Interprets internal & external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services.

  • Experience with new site start-up activities preferred.

Leadership

  • Manages multiple related teams, sets organizational priorities and allocates resources.

  • Leads teams with notable risk and complexity to achieve milestones and objectives.

  • Excellent at multi-tasking, able to respond promptly to issues, and effectively and quickly restore facilities systems.

Problem Solving

  • Identifies and resolves complex technical, operational and organizational problems.

  • Guides and reviews problem solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.

  • Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions.

Impact

  • Impacts the business results of the team by supporting and funding of projects, products, services and/or technologies and developing policies and plans.

  • Guided by business unit business plans.

  • Impacts the direction and resource allocation for IFM management.

  • Contributes to the development of functional strategy.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Coordinate with multiple groups (planning, construction, safety, maintenance service providers, building owners, management, etc.) to minimize facility or system downtime and business interruptions.

  • Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Business. Mechanical discipline preferred.

  • Masters Degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or similar highly preferred

  • PE License preferred

U.S. Salary Range:

$136,000.00 - $187,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
