Manager, Project Management - Tech Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging

Tech’s Labor Strategy, Programs and Chief of Staff team serves to support enterprise labor planning efforts. Through program and project implementation and delivery, our team coordinates with a matrix group of stakeholders to develop strategies in support of Tech’s labor imperatives.

As a Manager of Project Management on Capital One’s Tech Top of House Labor, Programs, and CoS team, you will empower the team to continuously deliver customer value by leveraging innovative technologies and best practices. This is an exciting role to have a profound impact on the Technology organization. You will drive strategy and execute on high priority projects for the Tech organization. The Project Lead is a critical position supporting Tech’s DIB to advance work in the four fundamental strategic areas of DIB: 1) Strategy, 2) Operational Excellence, 3) Communications, and 4) Organizational Capability. Candidates should have a passion for diversity, inclusion and belonging, exceptionally strong execution skills, expertise in problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once.

This role is responsible for shaping the overall landscape in Program Management / Agile to create, develop, execute and support initiatives that promote our DIB principles and execute on the recently-launched DIB strategy. Candidates should be excited about applying strategic, analytical, and storytelling skills to solve complex problems and deliver real-time impact, in collaboration with a cross-functional group of leadership, Business Resource Groups, Divisions, HRBPs, and business partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver DIB projects and initiatives, ensuring work is well-run, strategically aligned, and prioritized with respect to Tech’s divisions and BRGs.

  • Align work to Enterprise DIB OKRs and ensure the right metrics are in place to track and manage priorities, outcomes, risks, budgets, etc.

  • Manage MBRs, QBRs, Strategy Sessions, and Summits. Develop Agendas, Prep Speakers, and partner with communicators on talking points.

  • Create executive-ready presentations and materials.

  • Facilitate discussions of DIB programs leveraging knowledge of current research and data to make data-backed recommendations and forecasting.

  • Execute governance structures and volunteer recognition.

  • Communicate timely updates on projects, systems, and events ensuring they stay on track, on deadline, and on budget, adjusting if/when necessary.

The Selected Candidate Will:

  • Understand and align with the DIB mission and initiatives.

  • Have a track record of successful program management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage tasks and related expectations.

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Have excellent communication and partnership skills for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders to manage, inform and influence outcomes.

  • Demonstrate good judgment and sensitivity.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

  • At least 6 Years of Project, Process, or Program Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree

  • 7+ years of Project, Process, or Program Management experience

  • 1+ year of People Management experience

  • 1+ year of budget management experience

  • 2+ years of experience communicating and collaborating with multiple partner groups

  • 2+ years of experience working on high level projects partnering with Senior Leadership

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
