We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Product Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Product Designer at CoStar, you will play a pivotal role in designing solutions that provide CRE professionals with the tools they need to make informed decisions, stay updated with industry news, and take strategic actions.

This position is in Richmond and with a schedule of 4 days onsite / 1 day remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the overall design vision and strategy for the product, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Engineers, and Researchers to align on user needs and business requirements.

  • Lead and mentor a team of designers, providing guidance, feedback, and ensuring adherence to design principles and best practices.

  • Plan and oversee comprehensive user research initiatives, usability testing sessions, and gather feedback from various stakeholders to inform design decisions and drive continuous improvement.

  • Develop detailed user flows, data-rich wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and pixel-perfect designs for complex features and products, ensuring a cohesive and delightful user experience across the entire product ecosystem.

  • Create intuitive and visually appealing interfaces that prioritize user experience, accessibility, and adhere to best practices in UI design and information architecture.

  • Closely partner with Engineering teams to ensure designs are accurately and efficiently implemented, providing clear documentation and guidelines, and facilitating collaboration between design and development.

  • Continuously iterate on designs based on user feedback, data analysis, and industry trends, leveraging your extensive experience to make informed design decisions.

  • Own and evolve the design system, promoting consistency, scalability, and reusability across the product ecosystem.

  • Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices within the organization, fostering a design-driven culture.

  • Represent the design team in strategic planning and decision-making processes, ensuring design considerations are factored into product roadmaps and initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in design, HCI, or related field from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College.

  • 7+ years of experience in product design, human-computer interaction, usability and user interface design, and/or visual design, with a proven track record of leading successful design projects.

  • Exceptional portfolio showcasing end-to-end design projects, including user research, wireframes, prototypes, and final designs, demonstrating a deep understanding of user-centered design principles and techniques, as well as experience in designing complex data-rich applications and workflows.

  • Expert proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and other industry-standard tools.

  • Proven ability to lead and mentor design teams, foster collaboration, and drive design excellence across the organization.

  • Extensive experience in designing data-rich interfaces, workflows, and complex information architectures, with a deep understanding of data visualization principles and tools.

  • Proficiency in using and contributing to a design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across the product ecosystem.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to balance user needs with business goals and technical constraints.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate design rationale and decisions to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • A track record of commitment to prior employers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the commercial real estate industry or related domains.

  • Portfolio showcasing work that features data visualization, complex workflows, and functionality related to data-rich applications.

  • Deep understanding of data visualization principles and tools for representing complex data in a clear and detailed manner.

  • Experience leading and managing design teams in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.

  • Proven track record of driving design innovation and delivering exceptional user experiences.
