Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Customer Service Representative in the local government sector, located in Richmond, Virginia. As a Customer Service Representative, you will play a critical role in delivering outstanding customer service to residents, businesses, and visitors via various communication methods. Your duties will involve addressing inquiries, assisting with the navigation of government procedures, and collaborating with different departments to ensure accurate and timely responses.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver top-notch customer service through phone, email, and face-to-face interactions
• Address and resolve inquiries, concerns, and requests related to government services, programs, and policies
• Assist constituents in navigating government processes and procedures
• Collaborate with various departments to secure accurate information and prompt responses to customer inquiries
• Maintain current knowledge of local government services and initiatives
• Process and manage sensitive information with utmost confidentiality and discretion
• Utilize basic computer applications and demonstrate a willingness to learn new systems
• Guide guests and direct them appropriately based on their needs
• Handle data entry tasks efficiently and accurately. Requirements • Demonstrated experience in a Customer Service role within a local government setting or similar.
• Strong ability to direct guests to appropriate departments or individuals.
• Proficiency in data entry with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
• Demonstrated ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints in a detail oriented and efficient manner.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly under pressure.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• High level of personal integrity and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
• Understanding of local government operations and procedures would be advantageous.
