Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller based in Richmond, Virginia, United States. As a Controller, you will be a key player in our financial management team, ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting functions and playing a pivotal role in our growth strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the work of a senior accountant and staff accountant, ensuring accuracy and compliance

• Handle all general accounting tasks, including the management of accounts payable and receivable

• Conduct month end closing activities and prepare monthly financial statements

• Manage budget processes, forecasting, and analysis to aid in business decision-making strategies

• Ensure compliance with corporate tax regulations

• Prepare for and engage with external audits, comfortably liaising with auditors and bankers

• Develop and implement accounting functions, processes, and controls

• Analyze financial data and prepare reports using Excel

• Utilize accounting software systems and AP system effectively for financial management

• Communicate with stakeholders, providing quarterly reports to investors and annual financials

• Handle the accounting and financial implications of over 150 related business entities. Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory.

• Solid grasp of Accounting Functions is required.

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary.

• Knowledge in handling Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential.

• Familiarity with Auditing processes is a must.

• Proficiency in Budget Processes is highly desirable.

• Ability to prepare Monthly Financial Statements is required.

• Experience with Month End Close is necessary.

• Knowledge of Corporate Tax Compliance is crucial.

• Strong understanding of Accounting Control is required.

*Background ideally with construction, property management or real estate companies
