JOB SUMMARY: Conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning and general servicing of electrical systems and related components under the leadership of the Journeyman Electrician. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Installs, repairs and maintains motors, transformers, generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring and other electrical system equipment and components with electrical codes, standards and regulations for low and high voltage service and equipment. Assist Journeyman Electrician to prepare plans, drawings, specifications and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs and/or installations. Responsible for procurement of materials and tools required for project completion. Accompany Journeyman Electrician when meeting with City Inspectors to review code requirements. Ensures job is completed within code requirements in a precise and timely manner. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED. Technical School Training preferred. Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards and regulations. 3 years of job-related experience.

SALARY RANGE: $17.60 - $22.00 hourly based upon qualifications.
