In Construct Kit our purpose is enabling developers and designers to deliver great experiences faster. This is backed by our mission to grow a system that will reduce the time spent on routine and provide an opportunity for creativity and innovation.

What the role is all about

This role sits within Consumer Channels & Search. The Construct Kit team create comprehensive design systems featuring pre-built code to support and enhance user experiences, design assets, detailed documentation. This enables teams to seamlessly contribute to platform codebases, ensuring a consistent and familiar experience across the various screens users encounter throughout their journey with the product.

We are seeking an Android Developer to join our team and collaborate on delivering versatile Android UI capabilities that can be utilized across our native experiences. Your role will be crucial in accelerating feature development for REA apps, enhancing both efficiency and consistency.

The Android Developer supports the team in the following ways:

  • Design and implement versatile Android UI capabilities that can be seamlessly integrated across our native experiences

  • Contribute to delivery planning and technical design by evaluating options, effort, and quality considerations

  • Stay updated with the latest technological advancements to guide product and technical design

  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of products, technology, processes, and team development

  • Support the Lead Developer / Staff Developer in maintaining high code quality and fostering effective teamwork

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design high-quality solutions that effectively address user needs

Who we’re looking for

  • Minimum 2 years experience as an android developer

  • Passionate about UI development with a meticulous attention to detail

  • Proficient in native programming with Kotlin

  • Familiarity with Java & any experience, self learning or willingness to learn Jetpack Compose is ideal

  • Strong understanding of Android development and its lifecycle

  • Skilled in software development practices, including object-oriented programming, functional programming, and continuous delivery

  • Proven ability to thrive in collaborative environments

  • Approaches complex problems with a solutions-oriented mindset

  • Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, agile setting

  • An appetite to work on different platforms: Android, iOS, and Web UI from time to time

  • Innovative thinker with a knack for creative problem-solving and thinking outside the box.

  • A strong and creative communicator
