Job Duties/Scope Of Work The HMIS Co-Op Internship program provides professional development for students to gain valuable work experience on the Hanford Site. The Co-Op intern will perform a multitude of entry level duties supporting the various elements within Procurement. This position will assist the team in accomplishing the following support activities which will include, but are not limited to the following: • Compile files from various sources, ensure data is accurate, and input data into spreadsheets, templates. • Edit supporting data from Functional Service Areas for standard formatting. • Process records for documentation supporting contracts and invoices. • Support program creation of training tools, tips and other support documents. • Update data within Procurement and site systems for the team. • Support compliance reviews as needed. Basic Qualifications • Intern should be pursuing a B.S. degree in business, accounting, project management, finance, or construction management. • Demonstrated interest in learning about Procurement at Hanford and business processes. • Must possess the ability to set and manage priorities effectively. • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Must be self-motivated, self-directed and detail oriented. • Great analytical and problem-solving abilities required. • Must possess a strong customer service attitude and be team oriented. • Experience with standard office-based software (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook). Must have one college term completed and be currently enrolled as a full-time student, have and maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or above (list on your resume), the availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, and live within a commutable distance to the work site. This is a year-round internship. Desired Qualifications • Desire to learn Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) based Contracting. • Interest and willingness to learn business technology, processes, and applications. • Excellent communication skills. • Ability to work independently and in a teaming environment. Compensation & Benefits Freshman: $16.60 Sophomore: $20.33 Junior: $20.76 Senior: $24.496 In accordance with the HMIS wage determination process, offers will be made by taking into consideration the degree program the candidate is currently enrolled in - or - scope of work the position will perform, grade level in school (freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior) as well as the external labor market. A candidate's salary history will not be used in compensation decisions. The starting rates, and ranges listed (if applicable) represent the full wage scale that maybe offered for this position. In accordance with the Service Contract Act, this position is eligible for the health & welfare adder of up to $4.41 per hour.
