Amentum Shift Maintenance Manager (Work Execution) in Richland, Washington

The Maintenance Shift Manager will be responsible for supervising and directing Maintenance Superintendents, Craft Professionals and providing relief to the rotating Shift Maintenance Managers as needed. Tasks include improving the planning and scheduling quality, and organizational effectiveness before, during and after the safe and efficient use of maintenance resources to meet schedule requirements. Utilizes independent decision making regarding the resolution of problems focusing on the facility’s mechanical handling systems and components., including assigning complex work, setting work priorities in the performance of work assignments and ensuring a safe, quality and timely completion of schedule activities.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS

  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.

  • Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.

  • Schedule work activities in a manner that ensures project resources are efficiently allocated to support applicable phases of operations.

  • Set work priorities based on available resources and coordination with Operations/Start-Up/Construction.

  • Monitor Maintenance Superintendents and craft in the execution of work packages, work instructions, and procedures to ensure all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner.

  • Monitors assignments to ensure that they are within the agreed scope, schedule and budget and that the work is being performed within outlined policies and expectations.

  • Evaluates and forecasts the need for further resources to meet future needs and requests them as required.

  • Work with other groups (internal and external) to allow for maintenance work to proceed.

  • Reviews and analyzes delays in schedule, expedites any work activities requiring work packages that delay schedules, and coordinates schedule changes needed to encompass unforeseen conditions.

  • Ensures work orders are in compliance with project directive documents, assists in the determination of work priority, and establishes workflow processes that support work management and operations goals.

  • Reviews work performed for attainment or obtainment of objectives, policy compliance and priorities, effective coordination, technical adequacy and responsiveness to established guidelines.

  • Integrates efficient maintenance and operations that are in compliance with company policies, client requirements, and governmental regulations.

  • Complete required training and maintain qualifications associated with assignment.

  • Ensures all safety and environmental guidelines are followed without deviation.

  • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May supervise assigned personnel, and includes assigning complex work, setting work priorities, assigning training and evaluating their performance.

REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related supervisory experience. Including a thorough knowledge of maintenance, construction or operating activities, such as Mechanical troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, instrumentation calibration, corrective or preventive maintenance, materials, production processes and engineering. Must have 3 years’ nuclear experience.

Associates degree and 10 years of related supervisory experience. Including a thorough knowledge of maintenance, construction or operating activities, such as Mechanical troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, instrumentation calibration, corrective or preventive maintenance, materials, production processes and engineering. Must have 3 years’ nuclear experience.

HS Diploma and 12 years of related supervisory experience. Including a thorough knowledge of maintenance, construction or operating activities, such as Mechanical troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, instrumentation calibration, corrective or preventive maintenance, materials, production processes and engineering. Must have 3 years’ nuclear experience.

3 years of Nuclear Facility experience required per DOE O 426.2. Nuclear Experience when used in reference to Nonreactor Nuclear Facilities, is experience acquired at any facility in which radioactive materials are routinely handled, stored, processed, or utilized. This may include non-reactor nuclear facilities, commercial nuclear facilities, test or experimental reactor facilities, or Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program facilities or platforms.

  • Experience in design, construction, and operational training may be considered applicable nuclear experience and must be evaluated on a case-by-case and approved.

  • Full-time related academic training may be substituted on a one-for-one basis for 2 of the 3 years’ nuclear experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Supervisory experience in the DOD/ DOE / ISMS / VPP environment.

  • Safety Trained Supervisor Certification preferred. If not certified, need to have ability to become a Safety Trained Supervisor within 1 year

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual

Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and selected candidate must be willing and able to work a rotating shift schedule, 4 days on / 4 days off.

Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship

Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) badge for access to the Hanford site .

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $128,402.60 - $206,078.53 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
