Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting for a QA Specialist II in Richland, WA.

This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA, and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. The Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).

The QA Specialist II is responsible for providing analytical quality assurance services in support of Navarro-ATL activities. Performs a variety of duties to include: plans, schedules, participates in and/or leads QA program audits, surveillances, and assessments in support of corrective action programs; performs data review of analytical test results; conducts investigations of analytical data anomalies and identifies process deficiencies, develops and/or revises quality plans, procedures, and audit checklists; and assists personnel with the interpretation/implementation of analytical quality assurance related requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision, responsible for providing analytical quality assurance services in support of Navarro-ATL activities. Participates in project-wide system audits and surveillance to approved audit checklists and procedures. Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. Interprets quality trends.

  • May lead workers engaged in measuring, testing, and tabulating data concerning quality and reliability. May compile and write training material and conduct training sessions on quality activities. Reviews process procedures and quality reports. Identifies and reports quality problems or trends.

  • May specialize in a particular area of analytical quality assurance, such as laboratory quality, proficiency testing, minimum detection limits, method validations, EPA standard methods, or NQA-1 requirements implementation in a laboratory setting.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Chemistry, Science, or related field, and 2 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed to facilitate project milestones. Must be able to clearly and concisely communicate to peers and management.

  • Familiarity with ISO 17025, TNI or DOECAP requirements.

Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)

Grade 16: $86,138 - $108,513

In accordance with the Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc (Navarro) salary determination process, Navarro takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities and the candidate’s education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. A candidate's salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
