CTG Project Manager II - Nuclear Projects in Richland, Washington
CTG is seeking to fill a Project Manager II - Nuclear Projects opening for our client in Richland, WA.
Location: Richland, WA
Duration: 12 months
Duties:
Manage project activities for refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line work as assigned, ensuring that work is implemented safely, with quality, on schedule, and within budget.
Oversee all aspects of project implementation, including budget management, work package preparation, parts procurement, ALARA planning, industrial and nuclear safety, clearance order preparation, work prioritization, resource loading, risk management, and work execution.
Develop, track, and manage project budgets, ensuring proper focus and progress by frequent interface with clients, engineers, and management.
Develop and manage project schedules, identifying risks, tracking progress, managing critical paths and float, and holding team members accountable.
Prepare and deliver written and oral communications to various groups, including senior management.
Develop and maintain long-range plan strategies for assigned projects.
Support the effective implementation of the Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.
Provide outage support, including oversight of the Outage Control Center (OCC).
Skills:
Proficient in advanced project management techniques, particularly in the commercial nuclear industry.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent ability to manage complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
Expertise in budget development and tracking, schedule management, and risk mitigation.
Skilled in managing safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in nuclear plant environments.
Proficient in project management and budget software such as MS Office, Passport, or similar tools.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders.
Experience:
Fourteen years of experience in a technical field, with at least 7 years in a project management role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in managing large, complex projects, preferably in the nuclear industry, including refueling outages and forced outage support.
Demonstrated success in budget and schedule management for large-scale projects, with a focus on risk management and resource allocation.
Direct supervisory experience or leadership roles within nuclear or similar high-risk industries is highly preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Project Management certification is required (e.g., PMP or similar).
Desired Education and Experience:
Advanced degree in a related field of study or business.
Construction Management Certification.
RO/SRO License or CGS Management Certification.
Extensive work experience in a direct supervisory or project management role within the commercial nuclear industry.
Experience in nuclear plant operations, including production coordination and work management.
Knowledge of error reduction and human performance improvement methods, cost-effective work execution methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
Required Abilities and Skills:
Ability to lead and mentor teams while managing complex projects and multidiscipline teams.
Strong understanding of nuclear safety, regulatory standards, and industry trends.
Expertise in managing refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line work in a commercial nuclear environment.
Desired Abilities and Skills:
Supervisory experience in a nuclear plant setting.
Familiarity with industry committees or experience leading internal audits or assessments.
Experience with project management and budget software tools.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, particularly in high-risk environments.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75/hr to $97/hr. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
