CTG Mechanical Planner III, Nuclear in Richland, Washington
CTG is seeking to fill a Mechanical Planner III, Nuclear opening for our client in Richland, WA.
Location: Richland, WA
Duration: 6 Months
Duties:
Plan and prepare mechanical work packages for the Nuclear Projects organization, including both large and small-scale projects, to be executed by mechanical and contract maintenance teams.
Ensure the successful and safe completion of plant projects in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable codes and standards.
Develop clear work instructions for mechanical and contract maintenance organizations, ensuring all required procedures and resources are defined.
Identify, analyze, and provide input on maintenance, modification, and surveillance activities during field walkdowns.
Collaborate with Work Management, Supply, Operations, and Engineering teams to resolve work package issues and ensure timely execution.
Approve and verify the adequacy of work instructions, ensuring compliance with station procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
Review and approve all required work packages, ensuring they meet safety, quality, technical rigor, and regulatory compliance standards.
Assist in project management by coordinating the development of detailed elements of work packages and supporting other system planners or contractors.
Participate in planning meetings, craft interface sessions, and feedback reviews to ensure station processes and changes are properly supported.
Oversee the preparation of critical work-related documentation, including OOS's, RWP's, plant barrier impairments, welding/grinding permits, ALARA task-outs, and other required approvals.
Participate in the development and revision of maintenance procedures, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and vendor recommendations.
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse teams.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Solid understanding of nuclear power plant work management, planning processes, and safety regulations.
Advanced computer skills, including experience with maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to obtain Planner I qualification and develop into a senior planner role.
Experience:
A minimum of six years of experience in a technical area such as maintenance, engineering, operations, or maintenance planning, with at least some experience in nuclear environments.
OR an associate's degree from an accredited institution and eight years of relevant technical experience.
OR a high school diploma/GED and six years of experience with technical training equivalent to an apprenticeship program.
Previous experience in the nuclear industry is highly desired but not required.
Experience developing and reviewing work packages and related documentation, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Education:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or an associate’s degree with additional experience in a technical area, or a high school diploma/GED with relevant technical training.
Educational experience may substitute for some years of technical work experience as applicable.
Required Abilities & Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Expertise in technical problem-solving and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with nuclear power plant regulations and ALARA principles.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure alignment across different departments.
Desired Abilities & Skills:
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to improve plant reliability.
Experience working with nuclear power plant work management systems.
Knowledge of nuclear security operations, safety regulations, and regulatory compliance.
Ability to write clear technical reports and develop trending reports based on plant data.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $60.00 to $80.00 hourly. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
