CTG IS Computer Support Technician in Richland, Washington

CTG is seeking to fill an IS Computer Support Technician opening for our client in Richland, WA.

Location: Richland, WA

Duration: 6 months

Duties:

  • Maintain inventory of software and licenses, install, maintain, and provide support for software.

  • Assist users in requesting software, track progress of requests, verify software approval status, and track licenses.

  • Provide technical system support, assist users with available applications and programs.

  • Assist IS analysts in system management, provide password support and management, manage access to network and network folders.

  • Maintain network security workgroups.

  • Act as the primary customer interface to develop specific hardware and software configuration requirements necessary to meet customer telephone and data transmission needs.

  • Receive and document customer computer and network trouble calls, watching for trends and recurring problems.

  • Provide advanced technical assistance in resolving IT related problems involving hardware, software, system compatibility conflicts, application operations, connectivity, network, and security issues.

  • Log customer information into a service request ticket, managing the ticket through to its completion.

  • Attend meetings and trainings as necessary.

  • Maintain the fleet of laptop computers, load appropriate software and e-mailboxes for customer checkout, and re-image laptops upon return.

  • Provide administration and support for Remote Secure Access, track supervisor approvals, create and distribute tokens, and assist users in setup and continued use of applications.

  • Must participate on the Emergency Response team (ERO) when designated and support the biennial refueling outage.

Skills:

  • Strong customer service and technical troubleshooting skills.

  • Proficient in Windows Operating System, Microsoft Server, client-server computing, and TCP/IP networking.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Applications such as Office, Internet Explorer, SCCM, and SCOM.

  • Understanding of IT telecommunications environments, including telephone circuits, data communications, and plant cabling concepts.

  • Ability to communicate orally with customers and vendors for problem-solving and troubleshooting of computer problems.

  • Ability to communicate fluently in writing, including software documentation, systems presentations, procedure writing, and other advanced written communication methods.

Experience:

  • Experience in computer systems support, help desk services, client-server infrastructure, and network security.

  • Previous experience in IT support related to hardware, software, system compatibility conflicts, application operations, connectivity, and security issues.

  • Experience working with client-server infrastructures and local area networks.

  • At least 3 years of experience in Information Systems/Help Desk or related roles.

Education:

  • An AA degree in a computer-related field; OR an unrelated AA plus one year of experience; OR, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma plus three years of experience.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Sciences, Engineering, or related fields preferred.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $27 to $29 hourly. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
