Project Overview:
Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.
Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.
Job Summary:
Provides project support in the administration of the government property control program and related systems. Responsible for gathering and compiling data assisting with the assembly and maintenance of baseline requirements and the implementation of property management procedures. Coordinates or performs property management tasks as assigned. Monitors compliance with regulatory requirements and prime contract obligations. Conducts investigations and inquiries into specific property management problems and may provide assistance in problem analysis and resolution. Organizes material for presentations and assists in the preparation of status reports. Acts on own initiative on assigned property control activities of increasing complexity with little supervision. Conducts investigations and inquiries into specific government property control management problems. Reports to and receives operational guidance from a Government Property Supervisor. This is a part-time teleworking position.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. #LI-SF1
Major Responsibilities:
Implements property management processes pertaining to acquisition, receiving, identification, records, inventories, subcontractor control, storage, movement, utilization, maintenance, reports, relief of stewardship, disposition, contract closeout and fleet management.
Assists managers and administrators in completion of various tasks required by the Government Property Management Manual compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and property records management systems.
Interfaces with property custodians to facilitate implementation of procedures and to monitor compliance with prime contract obligations, as assigned.
Conducts investigations and inquiries into specific government property control management areas, as assigned.
Drafts correspondence and assists in the preparation of periodic status reports.
Conducts inventories, reconciles reports and prepares reports and metrics.
Processes excess property for disposition including segregation, documentation, and turn-in.
Assists with and or develops procedures, instructions, forms, and training programs.
Maintains property record databases for uniquely identified property, summary records, subcontractor property, excess property and disposed property.
Prepares various property reports upon request such as government inventory and government property status.
Prepares trend analyses.
Participates in government property related meetings and organizes materials for the preparation of meetings, presentations, and training sessions.
Acts on own initiative on assigned property control activities of increasing complexity with little supervision. Conducts investigations and inquiries into specific government property control management problems.
May oversee and administer programs with the property control system, as assigned.
May be assigned other assignments within Material Management group as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and a minimum of 3 years’ experience including but not limited to Procurement preferably in an engineering, procurement, and construction environment.
In lieu of formal degree a minimum of 9 years of progressive related experience including but not limited to Procurement, preferably in an engineering, procurement, and construction environment.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of standard computer applications.
Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
Candidates must possess the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
