RH2 Engineering Control Systems Engineer (SCADA) in Richland, Washington
About the Position
This position serves to work and collaborate with other CSNW team members in the planning, designing, software development, and commissioning of control systems for water and wastewater facility projects and industrial manufacturing. A person in this position thrives in a collaborative team environment that requires critical thinking to solve complex problems and providing exceptional client service while managing a diverse workload and creating technically accurate deliverables.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned.
Develop software for programmable logic controllers (PLC's), touch screen operator interface devices (OI's), and Human Machine Interface (HMI) computer systems.
Provide on-site start-up and commissioning, as well as ongoing support of SCADA/ control systems.
Develop O&M documentation and conduct O&M training sessions.
Conduct inspections of control system installations. Lead control system and field instrumentation testing, troubleshooting, and startup.
Work closely with existing and new clients further improving our client services reputation.
Collaborate with others to identify and secure work in new markets to expand our control services.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
5-12 years related engineering experience
5-12 years in SCADA/ control system design including:
PLC/ operator interface software development experience (i.e., Allen Bradley, Modicon, Siemens, etc.)
SCADA HMI application software development experience (i.e., Wonderware/AVEVA, RSView, FactoryTalk View, Ignition,etc.)
Autodesk Autocad regarding electrical designs and O&M documentation
Understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC) and computer networks, including internet/ intranet LAN/WAN networking skills
Experience with modern Motor Control Center Technology
Landline/ wireless communications experience
Solid computer skills including spreadsheets, and scheduling programs
Municipal water/ wastewater experience, desired
Experience with handheld digital meters
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with teams in multiple offices
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no ongoing employee supervisory responsibilities.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechatronics, or equivalent combination of education and experience/training.
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
This position has no certification or license requirements. Current EIT or P.E. license in Washington or Oregon is preferred.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:
Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook and Word preferred at an intermediate skill level
Advanced Microsoft Excel skill level
AutoCAD and AutoCAD 3D at an intermediate level
PLC/ operator interface software development
SCADA HMI application software

Compensation: Individual compensation will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience as they relate to the requirements for this position. RH2 values our employees' work/life balance and compensates overtime for hours exceeding 40 regular hours in a work week.
