Forklift Operator
Position Profile: Responsible for the efficient and safe operation of all powered and non-powered material handling equipment. This role involves performing various warehouse functions, including shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety First: Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
RF Equipment Utilization: Accurately process all inbound (Receiving), outbound (Shipping), and internal orders using RF equipment.
Transaction Accuracy: Ensure all transactions are accurate in terms of item and quantity and are processed accordingly.
Inventory Management: Perform cycle counts, quality assurance inspections, and assist with inventory accuracy.
Cross-Department Support: Provide backup support for job functions within other departments with appropriate cross-training.
Stock Consolidation: Perform stock consolidation to enhance inventory production performance and maximize warehouse space.
Productivity and Quality Standards: Meet and maintain productivity and quality standards as defined by the department manager.
Freight Inspection: Inspect and ensure the quality of all outbound freight, obtaining Manager approval for any damaged cartons.
Palletizing and Loading: Palletize and load shipments to prevent damage during transit.
Vehicle Loading: Load products onto LTL, TL Trailers, and Vans.
Inbound Freight Inspection: Inspect all inbound freight for quantity and damage, completing appropriate documentation, including carriers BOL, as per standard work instructions.
Standard Work Instructions: Adhere to all department standard work instructions.
Forklift Maintenance: Complete daily forklift inspection checklists, inspect material handling equipment for proper operation, and report any needed repairs.
Compliance Inspections: Perform C-TPAT compliance inspections and documentation for all inbound and outbound international shipments.
Warehouse Security: Maintain operational and warehouse security per C-TPAT policy.
Other Duties: Assist team leads with onboarding new employees and perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Certifications):
High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
Previous forklift certification for Reach, Dock stocker, or Sit-down forklift.
Experience with RF scanners.
Strong math, reading comprehension skills, and the ability to write legibly.
Minimum of three years of warehouse experience, including one year of stand-up (Reach, Dock stocker) forklift experience.
Physical ability to perform assigned tasks, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 100 lbs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to take direction and complete assignments within established timelines.
Team player with the ability to work and interact effectively with co-workers.
High attention to detail to prevent injury to others and property damage, promoting a safe work environment.
Ability to multi-task and handle various responsibilities simultaneously.
Working Conditions, Mental, and Physical Demands:
Physically able to perform tasks requiring significant walking, standing, bending, reaching, and safely lifting up to 50 lbs for extended periods. Must also be able to lift up to 100 lbs and move objects on wheels weighing up to 700 lbs.
Typically a warehouse environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise levels.
Physical effort is required in moving boxes and materials weighing up to 100 lbs
