Logistics Coordinator
Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage the entire process of inbound and outbound shipments.
Work with shipping and the customs document teams to insure all data and documents required for shipping are provided at time of shipping.
Ensure timely and accurate documentation and communication with relevant parties.
Demand forecasts from operations to support trucking capacity.
Ensure sufficient capacity for all inbound and outbound shipments.
Collaborate with carriers and other departments to optimize load plans.
Maintain accurate records of yard inventory.
Conduct regular physical counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Inspect and report any damaged installations.
Coordinate repair and maintenance activities promptly.
Handle claims related to freight damages.
Work with carriers and insurance companies to resolve issues efficiently.
Prepare and manage expense reports related to logistics operations.
Ensure all expenditures are documented and within budget.
Provide local support for the company’s transportation management system.
Assist users with system navigation and troubleshooting.
Manage and expedite urgent air and ground shipments.
Ensure timely delivery of critical shipments.
Enforce OEA (Operador Económico Autorizado) and CTPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) regulations.
Ensure all logistics activities comply with these standards.
Develop and monitor KPIs for carrier performance.
Evaluate and report on carrier efficiency and effectiveness.
Utilize Copeland’s Transportation Management System to track and trace all shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
Communicate transit expectations and status updates to relevant stakeholders.
Oversee and manage rental drivers.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Create and implement contingency plans to address unexpected disruptions.
Ensure continuity of logistics operations under adverse conditions.
Serve as a backup for other team members in their absence.
Assist with additional duties as required to support the logistics team.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in logistics coordination or similar experience/role with a 3PL.
Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
Proficient in logistics software and transportation management systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Ability to escalate issues impacting logistics to relevant stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated experience with root cause identification and resolution.
Experience with data management skills of SQL and Python
Knowledge of OEA/CTPAT regulations is preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
