Senior Manager, Internal Communications (Hybrid)

Our Corporate Marketing and Communications team is looking for an experienced, motivated Senior Manager, Internal Communications to help us create more visibility and excitement with our employees around our inspirational, mission-driven work by owning our ambitious internal communications programs. 

You will have 8+ years of communications experience in corporate, in-house, or agency settings. If you’ve worked for large, multi-faceted organizations, that’s a plus. You’re highly detail-oriented and an excellent writer. You’re equal parts analytical, strategic, and creative. And you communicate ideas in creative and concise ways, while adapting messages for all mediums and audiences. 

In this role, you’ll develop and execute a measurable and impactful internal corporate communications plan that improves business performance and corporate growth, connects employees, and reinforces our purpose, mission, values, and culture.

A true communicator with a marketing mindset, you’ll bring a passion for storytelling, experience partnering closely with multiple stakeholders, and a knowledge of business strategy and industry acumen to help us share how ICF and our employees are making meaningful, global impact.  

This is a hybrid position based from our global headquarters in Reston, VA.

What You Will Do:

Lead our internal corporate communications strategy and execution.

  • Manage campaigns and activities to inspire and engage ICF employees with our purpose and values.

  • Share our corporate vision, growth story and key market differentiators with employees to provide clear direction on how ICF will continue to evolve.

  • Lean into purpose-driven storytelling for existing and new internal communications channels that draws from our global teams and projects.

  • Create and oversee the development of internal corporate communications content, such as presentations, newsletters, and announcements.  

  • Project manage internal corporate communications campaigns and corporate events to ensure timely, successful completion.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal communications processes, ensuring all communications reach relevant internal stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.  

  • Leverage metrics, technology, and industry best practices to develop and implement new and innovative communication mediums and tools to increase communication effectiveness. 

  • Manage an internal team of communicators, monitoring team performance, development needs, and career growth.

  • Partner with internal communicators embedded within various business operating groups to ensure corporate messaging and campaigns are permeating all ICF channels.

  • Partner with marketing campaigns teams to ensure key corporate messages and stories are consistently being delivered across all ICF channels.

Partner with leadership to develop and implement an executive communications strategy.

  • Manage internal executive communications, appearances, and more.

  • Establish close working relationships with top level executives, learn their voice, and craft communications recommendations based on their strengths.

  • Collaborate with leaders to define communications needs and preferences.

  • Regularly report on progress to goals.

Identify, design, and lead corporate-level internal events strategy and planning.

  • Produce bi-annual, global all hands events across 9K+ employees and 70+ countries.

  • Implement best practices and share across the business to help elevate our overall internal events presence.

Support leadership in internal crisis communications situations.

Support a highly active M&A program through comprehensive communications plans and outreach.

Support corporate brand campaigns.

  • Coordinate the planning and distribution of company-wide campaigns across ICF’s internal corporate and operating group channels.

  • Develop creative communications programs, campaigns, and content from scratch. 

  • Ensure our employee messages and systems are aligned and supportive of creating brand ambassadors. 

What You Will Bring With You :

  • 8+ years of communications experience, which must include exposure to internal communications. 

  • Experience working directly with senior executives, e.g., Vice Presidents and above. 

  • Experience developing and executing internal communications campaigns and employee events. 

What We’d Like You To Bring With You:

  • Bachelor’s degree. 

  • A thorough understanding of the communications channel mix.  

  • A proven track record of planning and delivering effective and creative communications programs that produce tangible results or change. 

  • A passion for finding new and creative ways to reach an audience.  

  • Experience working closely with content, brand, and creative teams to ensure your communications are as engaging as possible.  

  • Command of using metrics from various platforms, including LinkedIn, Poppulo, and Viva Engage (Yammer), to measure communication effectiveness. 

  • Familiarity in staging and publishing online content, including SharePoint. 

  • Experience in technology consulting or government contracting.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$116,605.00 - $198,228.00
