The SEC Reporting Manager at NVR supports the Director of Financial Reporting in critical functions for our business. This includes the preparation of NVR's financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and related supporting documentation, certain general ledger maintenance and related reconciliations, financial reporting for company retirement plans (including 5500 Reports filed with the IRS and DOL), along with completion of various financial analysis and special projects.

SEC Reporting Functions:

  • Gather and analyze accounting and disclosure information in adherance with SEC regulations and filing deadlines related to the preparation of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, Proxy Statement and Annual Report, etc.

  • Prepare the XBRL filing, including identifying appropriate tagging and working with outside vendor on quarterly updates and completion schedule.

  • Prepare and file required Section 16 reports (Forms 3, 4, 5) and Report 144 for the reporting of Executive Officer and Director stock transactions.

  • Draft quarterly press releases and coordinate with the VP of Planning to complete and file.

  • Research and support implementation of new, pending and existing SEC regulations and FASB pronouncements and interpretations on a Company wide basis.

  • Continually monitor industry developments with respect to new FASB pronouncements, SEC regulations, etc.

  • Assess and report findings on how competitors in the industry are implementing new rules and regulations.

Corporate Accounting Functions:

  • Manage the Homebuilding segment’s consolidation and oversee staff to prepare the consolidation and related supporting documentation each month.

  • Review and prepare the NVR, Inc. consolidation each month and related supporting documentation.

  • Complete the financial reporting for the Company’s retirement plans including audit support documentation and PST/401K and ESOP financial statements and PST 11-K filing.

  • Review and prepare assigned monthly reconciliations supporting the trial balance.

  • Review and prepare schedules and other support for the Company’s outside Certified Public Accountants in connection with their annual audit, quarterly reviews and retirement plan audits.

  • Complete NVR's earnings per share calculation, including review of the calculation of fair value of option grants as well as, analyzing and incorporating any regulation changes which may impact the EPS calculation.

  • Provide the Planning department appropriate supporting documentation in regards to determining compliance with the Senior Note Indenture.

  • Assist with maintenance of the corporate Policies and Procedures manual.

Special Projects:

  • Assist in the completion of accounting, reporting, proforma and supporting schedules for public offerings and other transactions.

  • Prepare other financial analysis and projections as requested by the CFO, Controller or Director of SEC Reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field

  • 5 years of progressive accounting or audit experience

  • CPA strongly preferred

  • Experience mentoring team members preferred

  • SEC reporting at an accelerated or large accelerated filer is strongly preferred
