Jacobs Resident Inspector - Water/Wastewater in Reston, Virginia
This position is 100% on site at a client wastewater plant in Lorton, Virginia
Our Construction Inspector position provides you an opportunity to work on exciting and large-scale civil infrastructure projects. Each day you will provide construction inspection in an Owner's Agent or 3rd Party construction inspection role. Your primary purpose will be to inspect and enforce Contract requirements for projects on a large, advanced wastewater treatment plant in Northern Virginia.
Our Construction Inspectors:
Observe, inspect, and document multi-discipline construction activities as an Owner's Representative
Ensure compliance with design plans and specifications, permit requirements, and approved submittals
Document contractor progress, maintain accurate quantity records, process payment requests, generate punch lists, and certify completion status
Document site activities accurately by maintaining accurate and current field books, construction reports, as-built record drawings, and progress photographs
Coordinate with client, contractor, and project stakeholders during course of the projects
Coordinate with third party materials testing firms for concrete, soil, and weld testing
Advocate for site safety and safety awareness
Ability to assist in CPM schedule reviews
Conceptual knowledge of CPM scheduling
Detailed knowledge of general conditions and technical specification requirements
Monitor and track additional work, change order work, or force account work
Able to perform multi-discipline inspections on large complex projects.
4+ years’ experience inspecting civil infrastructure projects. Prefer water / wastewater plant inspection experience
Experience working in/for municipal agencies or utility infrastructure organizations
Experience in delivery of and/or supporting technical work (construction specifications, drawings, documentation) in a construction environment
Experience with simultaneously inspecting multiple projects
Ability to respond proactively in a high-paced environment and willingness to adjust and respond effectively to changes
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree or formal technical training in related discipline
Certifications through ICC, ACI, and AWS other Special Inspection areas
