Job Title: Land Surveyors & Survey Crew Chiefs
Job Description
Our client provides civil engineering, land planning, surveying, urban design, and development consulting services to public and private organizations throughout the United States and abroad. They are currently hiring three Surveyors/Instrument Operators. Instrument Operators will be part of a two-person crew. You will report to the office in Reston every day before heading out to the site in DC/VA. You will be responsible for following safety regulations, daily instrument care, obtaining accurate field locations, and correct coding for a 'field to finish' mapping product, construction stakeouts, and maintaining clear and concise field notes and daily records.

Essential Skills
Land surveying experience (4+ years).
Proven knowledge with the use of Topcon survey equipment and software (GPS/RTK Robotics, Total Stations, Levels, and Data Collectors).
Effective communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma.
Ability to operate scanning equipment is a plus.
Willingness to undergo a 5-panel drug test and driving check.
Work Environment
You will be working on construction sites in all weather conditions. In DC, you may work in small spaces with limited parking. The work is on commercial renovation sites and is fast-paced with very deadline-intensive environments. The office setting is generally quiet, and the owners are actively involved in day-to-day operations. The schedule consists of four 10-hour days, either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, providing a three-day weekend.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00
