ICF IT Asset Analyst - Software Asset Focus in Reston, Virginia

Description

The IT Asset Management (ITAM) Analyst ensures effective handling and compliance of IT assets throughout the organization. Responsibilities include managing inventory, processing equipment requests and returns, enforcing compliance, conducting asset audits, and coordinating with vendors for timely provisioning. This role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a thorough knowledge of ITAM processes and best practices. In this role you will Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Procurement, and Information Security, to align asset management with overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities :

Asset & Service Management

  • Process asset and service requests daily ensuring fulfillment and delivery to internal stakeholders.

  • Respond to incidents, service request tickets, hardware and software requests and other client needs as required within established SLA’s.

  • Process requests for software provisioning, including assigning and deploying licenses to end-users.

  • Support the processes associated with the recovery and return of assets including hardware, software and computer accessories. Ensure the proper decommissioning or redeployment of assets.

  • Maintain up-to-date asset records, including software requests and actions in ITAM tools, ensuring data accuracy for all assets under management.

  • Manage on-site inventory of IT hardware and accessories, ensuring accurate records of stock levels, Maintaining of Reston, VA Storeroom (organizing and labelling)

  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records in the ITAM system.

  • Manual counting and update of inventory sheet every week, unloading of received shipment and shelf-stocking

  • Develop and implement best practices for tracking and managing IT assets throughout their lifecycle.

  • Perform regular inventory checks and reconciliations to ensure data integrity.

Compliance Management & Auditing

  • Enforce and adhere to IT Asset Management policies, standards, and processes in line with organizational objectives.

  • Conduct regular audits of IT assets, ensuring compliance with company policies, licensing agreements and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify discrepancies and non-compliance issues through audits and provide recommendations for remediation.

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of software licenses, installations, and entitlements.

  • Coordinate the provisioning and deployment of software assets, ensuring alignment with business needs and approval processes.

  • Oversee the retirement and decommissioning of unused or outdated software, ensuring proper record-keeping.

  • Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management.

  • Monitor and track IT asset lifecycles, including acquisition, deployment, usage, and retirement, ensuring all assets are appropriately accounted for.

  • Identify and report any discrepancies in asset records, addressing non-compliance issues and ensuring timely resolution.

Cost Management & Vendor Liaison

  • Analyze asset utilization to identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.

  • Provide recommendations to improve asset management practices and achieve cost savings.

  • Prepare detailed reports and dashboards on asset performance, utilization, and financial impacts.

  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure the timely provisioning of IT equipment and manage relationships to support operational needs.

  • Track contract renewals, lease agreements, and vendor performance metrics.

  • Manage vendor contracts related to IT assets, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.

  • Collaborate with software vendors to ensure compliance with licensing agreements and obtain the best value for the organization.

  • Continuously assess and improve IT asset management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT asset management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (one year of experience may be substituted per one year of education).

  • 5+ years of experience in IT asset management with a focus on compliance, auditing, inventory management, and contract management to include in-depth knowledge of ITAM principles, practices, and tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera, etc.).

  • 5+ years’ experience working directly with software licensing models, hardware lifecycle management, and IT service management (ITSM) frameworks.

  • 3+ years of experience with technology auditing and compliance processes.

  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis and techniques.

Desired Skills:

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM), Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM), Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP), or other ITAM-related certifications are highly desirable.

  • Experience with PowerBI, and Advanced Excel techniques

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Vendor negotiation experience is a plus.

Professional Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external vendors.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$79,643.00 - $135,392.00
