Leidos Information Assurance Process Engineer Intern in Reston, Virginia
Description
Leidos’ Corporate Information Security (CIS) has an immediate opening for an Information Assurance (IA) Process Engineer Intern in Reston, VA. In this role you will report to the Performance Optimization Manager. The Process Engineer Intern will assist with efforts to optimize performance and growth related to governance of classified information systems within the enterprise information assurance program. Duties include contributing to the analysis and creation of solutions for information assurance activities that align with strategic intents and government compliance, provide recommendations for added speed, scale, and security to enterprise practices and business enablement.
The Process Engineer Intern will partner with IA leaders, Security, and other relevant functions to facilitate creation of common secure, scalable, practices and procedures. The individual will assist with assessments of operations, recommend, and implementation of corrective actions and practices. Activities will scale across the Information Assurance operations to meet strategic intents.
Primary Responsibilities
Communicate with the Information Assurance team members to explain facts, basic analysis, process and practices.
Actively participate in IA team collaboration for creation and implementation of common practices and procedures.
Collaborate with others to understand and adopt new concepts, practices, and approaches.
Assist with providing security solutions to optimize performance and ensure security measures are consistent and effective.
Impact functional strategy by identifying, and addressing problems with intent to add speed, scale, and security to IA practices.
Contribute to efforts to engineer, implement, and enforce technical and administrative security measures and processes to ensure all system achieve and maintain government compliance with directives outline in the JAFAN 6/3, JSIG, ICD 503, DODIIS, NIST RMF and NISPOM / DAAPM.
Basic Qualifications
Must be pursuing a degree from an accredited college/university in computer science or related.
General knowledge of computer networking and cybersecurity concepts.
Strong writing and verbal communications skills.
Strong organization skills.
US citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Windows and Linux.
Power Apps experience
Python and data analysis experience
SharePoint and knowledge management

Pay Range:
Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
