Oracle Consulting Cloud Solution Engineer/Developer in Reston, Virginia

An experienced consulting professional who has a broad understanding of cloud, hybred, and on-premises solutions, industry best practices, multiple business processes or technology designs within a product/technology family. Works directly with Consulting sales to analyze customer business needs.

As a recognized authority and leading contributor within the practice, this senior-level consulting position provides consistent high quality and innovative solution leadership to a project team. Leads the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget. is expected to contribute directly with hands on keyboard to solution implementation.

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to deliver functional and technical solutions on non-routine and very complex aspects of applications and technology installations. Provides direction and mentoring to project teams, and effectively influences customer leadership on key decisions. Supports the business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain expertise. Resolves complex customer issues by recommending and implementing solutions. Demonstrates expertise in multiple business processes across two or more product families or ability to architect and design technology solutions encompassing multiple products and make decisions based on impact across the stack.

Responsibilities

Performs varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment in order to design business solutions utilizing Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. Operates independently by applying Oracle methodology, company procedures, leading practices, and creativity to develop business solutions on moderately complex customer engagements. Influences customer leadership in acceptance of Oracle solutions and services to facilitate the closing of consulting deals. Contributes to statements of work, work breakdown structures and/or level of effort and staff plans. Presents and demonstrates solutions to customers. Builds and maintains a network and up-to-date specific industry or product knowledge. Responsible for transitioning deal knowledge to implementation team. May lead solution design aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality and integrated business solutions. Demonstrates expertise in multiple business processes within one product family; or architects and designs technology solutions that address cross stack issues.

Responsible for taking the needs and requirements of a workload or environment and selecting and organizing the best services and solutions for the deployed state of the host environment. Can see across the different cloud domains and interconnect the policies and requirements into a complete solution. May also be responsible for defining cloud Infrastructure as Code strategies, additional components such as object storage, and data migration strategies.

Focus Areas: Security and Compliance, Operational Efficiency, Reliability and Resilience, and Performance Efficiency and Cost Optimization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a contractor in the Intelligence Community. (Preferred with Non-DoD Agencies)

  • Technical expertise and hands on experience as an architect and a cloud engineer with knowledge for applying these skills to cloud, cloud migrations, cyber security, and customer mission challenges.

  • Experience or training with variety of Oracle technologies including the applicability and usage of these technologies by customers. Cloud certifications are a plus.

  • Passion for technology, the curiosity and willingness to constantly learn new skills, work with new tools and discover new and innovative approaches to solving complex technical challenges.

  • Hands on experience as a cloud architectural engineer.

  • Good understanding of networking and required security therein.

  • Guide clients in infrastructure migration techniques, including any refactoring necessary for optimal use of cloud native capabilities in regard to mission success and cost.

  • Identify and design cloud architectures specific to each customer mission and develop required implementation strategy.

  • Hands on experience implementing cloud IaaS via console, CLI, APIs, and REST interfaces

  • Hands on experience in integrating and implementing Micro-services, cloud native applications, and various other platforms as a service.

  • Experience in implementing systems in Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, or other Cloud environments.

  • The ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and, vice versa, translate functional needs to technical solutions

  • The ability to lead a team of developers.

US: Hiring Range: from $79,000 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
