Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Chief of Operations to join our National Intelligence Program to lead an Enterprise Operations and Service Desk team supporting the operations, maintenance of a complex, hybrid on-premises and cloud enterprise IT environment. The Chief of Operations is an experienced technical leader with background in Network Operations, Security Operations, IT Support Operations, and IT Service Management (ITSM). This position is located in Reston, VA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction and leadership to the Support Desk, Systems Security, and Networking teams

  • Ensure 24x7 operational support and availability of critical cybersecurity systems and services

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and security

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Service Desk, ensuring timely and effective resolution of incidents and service requests

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to support desk activities

  • Drive and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and service delivery

  • Manage the Systems Administration team responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and support of servers, workstations, and cybersecurity systems

  • Ensure the integrity, availability, and security of all systems and data

  • Oversee patch management, vulnerability remediation, and system performance monitoring

  • Lead the networking team in the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure

  • Lead the security operations team to ensure a healthy security posture, network security, performance, and reliability

  • Oversee network troubleshooting, optimization, and capacity planning.

  • Align cybersecurity operations with organizational goals

  • Communicate effectively with executive leadership, providing regular updates on operational status, risks, and initiatives

  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning across the program

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's and nine (9) years or more experience; master's and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience

Desired Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience

Required Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph

Required Qualifications:

  • ITIL 4 Certification

  • Experience managing IT, Cyber Security, Network, and Service Desk teams

  • Experience with IT Service Management utilizing the ITIL Framework

  • Experience with IT infrastructure support and 24x7 IT support, service desk operations

  • Experience with modern networking technologies, cloud networking services, and network components

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, able to address complex NOC/SOC challenges

  • Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
