Job Description
Join our team as a Machine Operator Assistant at a family-owned and operated packaging company, where we have been dedicated to producing the best packaging products since 1967. We are the Northwest’s largest independent corrugated box manufacturer, known for our state-of-the-art converting equipment. We are looking for motivated individuals who are safety-conscious, detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to learn and grow within our team.
Responsibilities
Learn to safely and efficiently operate various pieces of converting equipment.
Effectively learn and apply established quality control procedures.
Execute position responsibilities as they pertain to the assigned work center.
Read and follow order specification documents.
Consistently work to develop or enhance skill set.
Work effectively with co-workers and establish a team approach to achieve company goals and expectations.
Follow all company rules and policies.
Successfully work in multiple areas of the converting plant and perform to expectations.
Essential Skills
Must be able to read and write in English.
Mechanically inclined and able to learn new skills within a standard timeline.
Comfortable around heavy equipment in a fast-paced environment.
Able to perform mentally and physically at a high pace with a sense of urgency while maintaining company expectations of Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
Basic Math Knowledge and ability to read a tape measure.
Possess a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work overtime.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to ask questions and learn machines.

Work Environment
Our facility is very large and can get hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The work involves lifting and operating heavy machinery, including but not limited to 112" Multiflute Corrugator, 62" Single Face Laminator, Rotary Die Cutters, Flexo Folder Gluers, and Specialty Folder Gluers. The candidate should be physically capable and comfortable working in such an environment, with mandatory overtime on Fridays (60% of the year). The work schedule is a day shift from Monday to Thursday, 4 10-hour shifts, with occasional mandatory overtime on Fridays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Renton, Washington.

The pay range for this position is $24.30 - $24.30
