Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk in Rensselaer, New York

Description

We are partnering with a local manufacturing company in the Rensselaer, NY area, in search of a dynamic, jack-of-all-trades, with strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills. This role primarily involves managing customer credit applications and records, as well as handling customer inquiries and collections. The successful candidate will also be expected to assist with various administrative tasks and support sales staff as needed. This is a contract employment opportunity, with the ability to become permanent for the right candidate!

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, collect, and distribute mail

• Maintain precise records of customer credit

• Resolve customer inquiries related to credit

• Greet customers and guide them around the showroom

• Assist sales staff with order entry, gathering signed contracts, and collecting payments

• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary action for delinquent payments

• Assist the accounting team when time allows

• Experience in MS Great Plains Dynamics a plus!

Requirements • Proficient in account reconciliation and accounts receivable (AR) management

• Experience with billing procedures and practices

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting

• Experience in collections, including maintaining a professional demeanor in difficult situations

• Familiarity with MS Great Plains Dynamics software for managing and tracking accounts

• Ability to effectively handle direct phone calls and customer inquiries

• Experience in business sales, with a focus on building and maintaining client relationships

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Proven problem-solving skills and ability to think critically

• Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively

• High level of integrity and trustworthiness in handling company accounts and sensitive information.
