We are currently seeking a Repair Technician I

As a member of the Product Repair Team this role will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of outdoor gear, including but not limited to stoves, mattresses, snowshoes, tents, and water filtration. The role requires a mechanical aptitude and ability to trouble shoot issues effectively, and strong customer service skills.

The ideal person should have experience working in the outdoor industry preferably in an outdoor gear repair type role.

To be effective in this role this individual must have a passion for our products and a deep understand of their uses.

This position is based in Reno, NV at our company headquarters. This is an onsite, hands on technical position working Monday - Friday 8 hours a day.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Product Knowledge:Have a thorough understanding of our products. This includes understanding how different components function and interact within a system. Stay up to date with new products.

``` 1. Diagnosis and Repair:Inspect and diagnose problems,identify defective parts, and perform necessary repairs or replacements.

``` 1. Communication: Communicate with the service team regarding repair status, small part inventory levels, estimates for repairs, and advice on equipment usage and maintenance.

``` 1. Record Keeping:Document all repairs, issues found, maintenance activities and parts used in company database. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and repair history.

``` 1. Inventory Management:Keep tools and materials neatly stored and organized. Conduct regular inventory checks and report if new parts and supplies are needed.

``` 1. Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Teams, Outlook and SharePoint. Work with our current software platforms to track, manage,and ship repair orders and small parts.

``` 1. Maintain Clean and Organized Workspace: Ensure the workshop is kept clean and organized at all times. This includes regular cleaning of work surfaces, floors, and equipment.

``` 1. Safety Compliance:Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while performing repairs and operating equipment.

Candidate requirements:

  1. Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Experience: Experience in outdoor gear repair or a related field

Skills:

  1. Strong organizational skills
  2. Technical Skills: The ability to use specialized hand tools and mechanical tools to repair and maintain various types of outdoor equipment.
  3. Physical abilities: The job often requires standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects and having good manual dexterity.
  4. Problem-solving skills: The ability to diagnose issues and determine app opriate repair methods
  5. Customer service: Good communication skills for interacting across teams and with customers.
  6. Attention to detail: The ability to complete tasks accurately and thoroughly, following established processes and procedures.
  7. Basic computer skills
