Your role at Clorox:
Pay Rate: $44.44 + Shift Differential for Shift D: $1.50
Shift D: Week 1 – Thur to Sat / Week 2: Wed to Sat
Shift Hours: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
A Lead Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment and machinery. They lead a team of technicians, ensuring that equipment is functioning properly, minimizing downtime, and maintaining safety standards. Their role includes planning and coordinating preventive maintenance schedules, diagnosing technical issues, and providing technical guidance to team members.
This position is considered a safety-sensitive position, meaning, a lapse of attention could adversely affect the safety of others by resulting in injury, illness, or death, including without limitation a position that includes the operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring of heavy equipment, machinery, or operation motorized vehicle.
In this role, you will:
Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians.
Assign tasks and ensure completion in a timely and efficient manner.
Provide training and technical guidance to junior technicians.
Maintenance Management:
Lead the maintenance team in performing preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance tasks on production equipment and machinery.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment malfunctions.
Oversee the safe execution of all maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with plant safety protocols and food safety regulations.
Assist in planning and scheduling regular maintenance shutdowns and equipment overhauls.
Manage inventory levels of tools, spare parts, and maintenance materials.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure that all maintenance work complies with OSHA, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and other regulatory requirements.
Promote a culture of safety, ensuring team adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials as per company and environmental regulations.
Conduct regular safety meetings and audits.
Preventive Maintenance:
Develop, schedule, and implement preventive maintenance plans for machinery and equipment.
Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics to ensure optimal performance and prevent equipment failure.
Troubleshooting & Repairs:
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in equipment and machinery.
Perform repairs, replacements, and modifications to equipment as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.
Record Keeping & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status.
Prepare reports on equipment performance, maintenance issues, and resolution efforts.
Continuous Improvement:
Suggest improvements in maintenance procedures and practices to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Monitor equipment performance data and recommend upgrades or replacements when necessary.
Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, operations, and production teams to ensure equipment reliability.
Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs or equipment procurement when required
What we look for:
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Proficiency in diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations.
Years and Type of Experience :
Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably within the food manufacturing or a similar industry.
Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems in a manufacturing environment.
Education Level/Degree:
High school diploma or GED required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering) preferred.
Physical requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in hot, cold, or noisy environments.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
Ability to work at heights, using ladders and scaffolding when necessary.
Eligibility Criteria (Internal Candidates Only):
Must be in “good standing” with the company, any written warning or above are not eligible to apply.
Minimum of twelve (12) months in your current department and have a minimum of six (6) months in your current position after skill block is sign-off. If not signed off within the department the twelv e (12) months criteria is the only criteria that must be met.
Shift Transfers must meet twelve (12) months in the department and shift. Some exceptions will be made based on the needs of the business.
