North Wind Solutions is a Government contracting small business with operations at military and civilian installations across the United States. The company's focus is facilities operation and maintenance, waste management and radiological services, security control and force protection, and environmental services.
POSITION PURPOSE:
To help ensure that we're building secure, reliable, and replicable systems to support Application Development and Infrastructure resources. We require an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our DevSecOps team to help us maintain and mature our Application Security and Automation programs for on-premises and Azure cloud environments. This person will serve as a technical resource who enables developers to secure their applications and follow secure coding practices, builds infrastructure as code to support operations, and works closely with Cyber Security to ensure compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain Continuous Integration pipelines that implement standard processes such as unit testing, application security testing, software composition analysis, compliance & controls, and others.
Build Continuous Delivery pipeline processes to standardize application and infrastructure deployments for both Azure cloud and on-premises systems.
Contribute to security planning and implementation within applications and infrastructure.
Document and improve secure software development lifecycle processes and standards.
Deliver training and provide mentoring to software and DSO engineers on security topics.
Design and develop infrastructure as code and configuration management (Configuration as Code) both Cloud and on-premises environments.
Automate redundant tasks and processes related to software engineering, operations, and security.
Provide support of DevSecOps platforms and services to Development and Project Teams.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strong understanding of Azure cloud including any relevant certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-204, AZ-400, and/or AZ-500.
Experience with automation tooling platforms like Ansible, Terraform, Azure Resource Manager/Bicep.
Previous experience participating in a DevOps or DevSecOps culture and workspace.
Experience managing Azure DevOps instances and a thorough working knowledge of systems features and capabilities.
2 years of experience in Cyber Security or Automation systems.
Hands on experience with Containers and Orchestration platforms to build and deploy application.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cyber Security, or a related technical field.
Skills and Abilities:
7 years of experience in information technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior experience must include a minimum of 5 years' experience in Software Engineering.
Experience with modern application development languages and frameworks.
Experience with DevOps with strong understanding of CI/CD principles.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Special Requirements:
Must be able to pass Government background check.
