CTG Senior Java Spring Boot API Developer in Remote, United States

CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Java Spring Boot API Developer opening for our client.

Location : Remote

Duration : 12 months

Overview:

As a Senior Java Spring Boot API Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance backend services and APIs using the Spring Boot framework. You will play a crucial role in leading projects, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable software solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.

  • Lead software development projects from planning to deployment, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.

  • Mentor and support junior developers, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and QA engineers, to define and achieve project goals.

  • Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, and implement best practices for software development.

  • Optimize application performance and scalability, ensuring efficient use of resources.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, API documentation, and user guides.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Full lifecycle software development (design, develop, test, deploy) for backend services.

  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and expertise across projects.

  • Collaborate with various teams to align backend services with overall business objectives.

  • Ensure the consistency, reliability, and security of the backend architecture.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and provide solutions to enhance system performance.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Mentor junior developers, offering guidance on coding standards, problem-solving, and development best practices.

  • Review and approve the technical design and implementation of backend services created by junior developers.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Associate’s Degree/College Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Java development with a focus on Spring Boot API development.

  • Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications.

  • Strong understanding of database management (SQL/NoSQL) and application optimization techniques.

  • Experience with Git for version control and knowledge of CI/CD pipeline processes.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Experience working with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Experience with performance tuning, troubleshooting, and scaling distributed applications.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
