Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled with extensive experience in RPG and CL programming. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of various development tools and operating systems. This role involves analyzing business processes, modifying modules based on client requirements, and ensuring the smooth operation of application programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business processes and client requirements, modifying modules accordingly.

  • Program and test applications based on requirements.

  • Debug and test application programs to ensure they meet business needs.

  • Prepare test plans and effort estimates for new requirements.

  • Analyze and fix bugs in existing systems.

  • Submit requested status reports regularly.

  • Perform unit testing and prepare unit test cases.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Over 3+ years of IT experience in the analysis, design, development, debugging, and testing of various applications.

  • Technical expertise in RPG/400, CL/400, DB2/400, RPGIV, OS/400, RPGILE, SQL/400, and CLLE.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to reverse-engineer and understand existing code.

  • Proficient in tools such as SEU, SDA, PDM, DBU, DFU, RLU, and QUERY/400.

  • In-depth knowledge of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from analysis through maintenance.

  • Extensive experience working on AS400 platforms.

  • Expertise in programming and developing procedures.

  • Strong debugging techniques and unit testing skills.

  • Good working knowledge of writing SQL queries and understanding databases, database relations, DSPF's, PRTF's, and IFS.

  • Ability to work on enhancement, maintenance, and production support projects.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with additional programming languages: AS/400 Query, FTP, QSH, XML, JCL.

  • Experience with development tools: SEU, PDM, DFU, SDA, RLU, Hawkeye.

  • Understanding of operating systems: OS/400, Unix, Windows Family.

  • Knowledge of system design and implementation.

  • Experience in code optimization and documentation.

  • Skills in software troubleshooting, installation, and upgrade.

  • Understanding of client-server architecture.

  • Some system administration experience.

Colorado Pay Range:

20 - 125/per Hour
