VICE PRESIDENT OF CARGO AT PRIMEFLIGHT
PrimeFlight, a leading company in the aviation sector, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our leadership team as the Vice President of Cargo. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of a regional operation across the United States providing strategic direction to the operation, support our employees and fostering exceptional customer relations. The VP of Cargo will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategies aimed at optimizing the company's operations, performance thereby contributing to its overall success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct activities of the operation, managers, affect positive change within the division, while promoting adherence to the company policies and procedures
Manage, mentor, lead and develop the team, supporting a predominantly frontline workforce
Develop and implement the overall strategic plan for the cargo division, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader goals and objectives
Oversee day-to-day cargo operations across all regional locations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry regulations
Collaborate with senior leadership to set performance goals and identify growth opportunities
Senior leader for the Cargo business unit, collaborating with executives, multiple business units, including finance, sales, contracts, human resources, and vendors
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement for sustained performance
Oversee the financial performance and process improvements of the cargo division, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting ensuring cost efficiency and profitability
Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions
Work with the finance team to ensure accurate financial accountability, reporting and forecasting
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards
Identify and mitigate operational risks
Develop and maintain contingency plans for business continuity
Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, and customers
Promote a culture of safety and accountability
May be assigned other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
18 years of age or older
Eligible to work in the United States
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management or related field preferred
Ten plus years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Proven experience in a senior operations management role, preferably in a similar industry
Strong leadership skills and experience managing large teams
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Track Record of driving operational improvements and achieving performance goals
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents
Travel requirement approximately 50%
Pass a background check and drug screen
Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY/WORKING CONDITIONS MAY INCLUDE:
Prolonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicable
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Position is generally sedentary, sitting for long periods of time
Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms
Tasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers
Specific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus
