We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Product Owner to join our dynamic clinical innovation teams at PPD (a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific). This role will play a critical role in driving the development and success of our software products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and partners, to define and prioritize product requirements, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet customer needs.

This is a remote position for candidates based in Bulgaria & Poland.

This role acts as the voice of the client and serves as the go-to subject matter authority on systems, integrations, processes, and operations required to support our products. The Product Owner will function as a link between the development team and key collaborators, ensuring effective communication and alignment of expectations. You will drive the direction of our application software products through needs identification, research, vision-setting and prioritization.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough user research to gain insights into user needs, pain points, and translate them into product features and software requirements.

  • Take ownership of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap by collaborating with critical partners, including the leadership team, clients, and the product team.

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure the timely delivery with the committed features.

  • Conduct regular product demonstrations to team members, incorporating feedback and iterating on product features.

  • Oversee the product release planning, feature backlog management, prioritization, and translate features into actionable epics and user experiences.

  • Make critical decisions regarding functionality and priorities, always focused on delivering value and maintaining high quality.

  • Define and measure key performance indicators to ensure customer satisfaction, engagement, and adoption.

  • Manage timelines for implementation, delivery, and deadlines throughout the development process.

  • Analyze the competitive landscape, trend reports, market statistics, and metrics to enhance our products.

  • Apply collected feedback, collaborate with partners and the team, and recommend and implement changes accordingly.

  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and other Agile ceremonies to ensure successful product delivery.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

  • Previous software product management experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5-8 years’ experience)

  • In some cases an equivalency, consisting of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of CosmosDB, SQL, .NET, React JS and C# is a plus

  • Knowledge of Life Sciences systems and business is a plus

  • Deep understanding of product vision, product launch, and other related concepts

  • Excellent communication skills for effective team communications. That includes working with cross-functional global teams at all levels within the organization.

  • Proven organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Strong technical foresight and system thinking approach.

  • Consumer-centric focus with experience leading user experience components.

  • Familiarity with UX/UI design principles and an understanding of user-centered design concepts

  • Ability to articulate and clearly communicate sophisticated problems and solutions simply and logically.

  • Proven record in effective requirement elicitation and analysis.

  • Ability to see opportunities and risks/problems and propose solutions that drive improvements.
