PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $40.05-$48.89 hourly. The full Pay Range is $31.06-$57.98 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. As an Associate Systems Analyst at BECU, you will be at the heart of transforming end-user requirements into impactful system solutions, collaborating with leaders and engineering teams to bring these ideas to life. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping technology that empowers our teams and members, driving positive change across the organization. By refining requirements, designing specifications, and leveraging your understanding of programming languages and operating systems, you'll ensure that technical solutions align with our vision and mission. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Define Business Value: Collaborate on product or program business cases, helping to identify business value and outcomes, and evaluating technology solutions that align with our goals.

  • Collaborate on Roadmaps and Goals: Work with peers and end-users to map out project roadmaps, document goals, and define sprint objectives that bring value to the team. Use workshops to capture requirements, build use cases, and refine processes.

  • Refine Requirements: Analyze and refine requirements and acceptance criteria to ensure alignment with BECU’s technical and business objectives.

  • Coordinate with Vendors: Translate functional specifications for software vendors, and ensure timely, quality delivery that meets BECU’s standards.

  • Support Testing and Resolution: Partner with other IT experts to develop test plans, identify and resolve bugs, and fine-tune technical solutions that align with our technical infrastructure.

  • Document and Support Business Objectives: Support business units by documenting objectives and aligning them with technical roadmaps, identifying how business goals impact people, processes, and systems.

  • Support Product Lifecycle Management: Provide operational support throughout the product lifecycle, including configuration, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and planning for application upgrades and maintenance.

  • Facilitate Effective Communication: Serve as a liaison between end-users, vendors, and IT departments, ensuring effective communication to resolve issues in both production and development environments.

  • Update Technical Documentation: Regularly update technical documentation to reflect software changes and support the team by conducting walk-throughs and demos with development and business stakeholders.

  • Create User Resources: Prepare system requirements, functional specs, user manuals, technical handouts, and operational manuals to ensure ease of use and access for deployed applications.

  • Be available on an on-call basis to respond to pending issues or problems arising during non-business hours and provide support and response.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical/related discipline required, or equivalent work or education related experience.

  • 2 years of experience working with business software applications required.

  • Experience in configuring and maintaining production systems in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of financial institutions and batch processing methodologies.

  • Experience assisting with supporting and delivering the full system development life cycle and its various phases (including user story creation, test planning, test execution, CI/CD pipeline support, production implementation and break-fix production issue resolution)

  • Knowledge of SQL and/or various relational database concepts and languages required, including multiple methods for analyzing, reporting and validating data at the source (eg. SQL queries). 

  • Troubleshooting problem-solving skills to identify problems from a functional perspective.

  • Experience managing solutions delivered in multiple programming languages and technical environments required.

  • Experience with multiple methods for creating and communicating strong business cases, including financial analysis, strategic alignment and risk analysis

  • Experience planning, organizing, scheduling, and implementingchanges in accordance with BECU and industry change management methodologies.
