The Practice Management Director role will be responsible for the creation and delivery of practice management thought leadership, including custom content and tools, that facilitate the success of our external wholesalers and their clients while increasing New York Life Investments brand presence. The ideal candidate will have had extensive experience working directly with financial advisors and senior management at our partner wealth management firms on topics such as business development, teaming, succession planning and leadership. The ideal candidate will also have existing relationships at our partner wealth management firms, particularly at the regional management level.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with our external Advisor Consultants and Global Relationship Management team in the delivery of consulting to high-value advisors looking to overcome specific business challenges and position themselves for growth

  • Relationship management of regional centers of influence (COIs). Build & strengthen relationships with a pre-determined list of regional COIs to improve access for our ACs and RACs.

  • Forecast advisor and/or wealth management industry trends to enhance the development of thought leadership content

  • Participate in speaking engagements at industry conferences and events on practice management topics

  • Contribute meaningfully to the creation of value add programs that align with NYLI business goals and our clients’ needs

  • Assist with internal and external program communications to educate, drive adoption and facilitate engagement

Will be expected to successfully establish and promote the following programs:

  • Deliver Financial Advisor workshops in conjunction with NYLI external Advisor Consultants

  • Maintain ownership of COI relationships across territories and firms

  • Record content sessions in a Ted Talk format for training and NYLI Financial Advisor site

  • Deliver virtual Financial Advisor training

  • Leverage relationships with key COI’s at essential firms to gain improved visibility and access for NYLI Advisor Consultants

  • Review and improve upon key competitors and leaders in Value Add space

What You'll Bring:

  • 15+ years of applicable experience

  • In depth knowledge of the wealth management, financial advisor and RIA landscape

  • Established relationships at Great 8 partner firms

  • Required travel 60% of the time (domestic)

  • Strong project management skills

  • Extensive content creation experience

  • A deadline orientation, with effective time management skills

  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills

  • Dynamic presentation skills required

  • Consummate team player, strong interpersonal skills
