Staff Software Test Engineers are strategic leaders who work across multiple teams and projects to ensure our software products meet and exceed customer expectations. They are champions of quality, advocating for best practices and continuous improvement throughout the software development lifecycle. As quality leaders, they design and maintain scalable test automation frameworks, drive cross-team testing initiatives, and mentor team members to achieve technical excellence in testing. Their leadership ensures a culture of quality, collaboration, and innovation across the organization.

During the first six months, you will:
· Understand customer needs and business goals
· Lead quality efforts across multiple teams and projects, coordinating cross-team testing initiatives and ensuring comprehensive test coverage throughout the SDLC
· Design and extend scalable automation test frameworks and components that serve multiple teams, leveraging tools like Cypress, Selenium, and Postman
· Identify and address quality gaps by proposing and implementing process improvements
· Mentor and coach team members by providing guidance, training, and support to engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration
· Establish and enforce testing standards, coding guidelines for automated tests, and continuous improvement initiatives
· Collaborate with engineering teams to create test strategies that align with business objectives, technical dependencies, and user needs
· Be adept at creating, executing, and supervising highly complex test plans for large-scale development projects while collaborating with Product owners/analysts/managers and other Engineers.
· Analyze Production issues and regression bugs to identify and implement preventative measures
· Understand and consider technical dependencies when creating test strategies
· Provide feedback via decision-making frameworks for proposed changes from across the organization
· Identify opportunities for test architecture and implementation that can be reused by multiple teams
· Monitor state of quality, raising awareness and resolution of gaps in quality
· Drive the team and organization toward implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipeline, where needed. Identify and implement improvements for existing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines.
· Regularly contribute to and at times present at Community of Practice sessions, and contribute to Paved Roads when appropriate.
Required Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent with 7+ years of experience with at least 2 years in a team leadership role
· Expert in creating and maintaining automated testing frameworks from scratch using frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, Playwright etc.
· Experience with performance testing using tools such as JMeter, Artillery and Locust
· Proficient in an object-oriented language (preferably C#)
· Proficient working with client-side web technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
· Strong expertise in testing APIs and deep understanding of API best practices
· Familiarity with SQL/NOSQL databases and writing advanced queries
· AWS experience is a plus
· Proven ability to design and execute large-scale, comprehensive test plans
· Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines and integrating testing into DevOps workflows
· Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead engineers, providing constructive feedback and promoting knowledge sharing
· Experience leading cross-functional testing initiatives and managing testing resources for large projects
· Proficiency with testing security vulnerabilities using tools like Burp Suite preferred
· Proven ability to influence and improve quality practices across an organization.
